Giovannella has gained wide experience at International level in representing governmental and/or private clients in all aspects of their activities, including regulatory and transactional work, in particular working with clients active in the utilities sector (electricity, oil, gas, telecommunications, water and transport).

Giovannella has been practicing EU law in Brussels for six years as an associate at Byrne & Partners (now Dorsey & Witney) and as a temporary agent at the EC Commission (DG Competition and DG Enterprise). From 1996 till 2002 she has worked in London as a senior associate first and European Counsel later at the International Law firm LeBoeuf, Lamb,Greene and MacRae. In January 2003 she became co-founding partner of LXL Ltd, International law firm in London and in January 2004 she moved her practice to Rome where she co-founded Blegal.

More particularly, Mrs. D’Andrea advised large multinational clients on a variety of transactions in Europe and at International level, including:

the constructing and financing of investment projects; the incorporation of joint-venture companies; the mergers and acquisitions of large groups of companies; commercial contracts in general and specific to the energy, telecom, water and transport sectors;

the filing of notifications of multi-jurisdictional merger deals to the competent anti-trust authorities in the UK, Italy, Germany, France and at the EC Commission;

the filing of complaints to the competent offices at the EC Commission in relation to the infringement of EU laws by Member States;

the execution of compliance audits at EU level on behalf of multinational groups with activities in various EU Member States in relation to the application of environmental, energy, custom and duties sectors.
